Nikon Explains Nano Crystal Coat

Here's an interesting video I saw over at NikonRumors.  If you're like me, you've probably wondered what the hell all of the numbers and letters on your lenses mean.  To be honest most of it is marketing, you'll see all sorts of terminology like SUPER ED and ULTRA SUPER HYPER MOTOR...  Most of it is somewhat important to how your lens functions, but these cryptic codings often have very little to do with optical performance.  A few years ago we started to see big gold plated (thug life) "N" symbols on some of the more expensive Nikkor lenses.  At first I thought it was just more marketing to compete with Canon's "L" series line, but here is a video that explains the magic behind Nikon's "Nano Crystal Coat".  Enjoy.  What do you think? Is this an optical breakthrough as Nikon claims, or is it just hype?
