Kodak Comeback...on Your iPhone

Kodak, seen by some as the face of film photography's fall to digital cameras, is coming back swinging. Although the company still offers some varieties of film and darkroom products (available here if you need them), it has ceased its efforts in the digital camera game. It has, however, moved into another digital medium - your iOS-enabled device.

Kodak's new app - titled "Kodak Professional Film" - turns your Apple gadget into a handy guide to the film loaded into your camera, which can be of great use to students or those unfamiliar with the medium. The app can give you information about each film type's characteristics, technical data, and places to develop the film.

The catch? The app gives you information about film through Kodak's products, not objectively about film itself. However, film knowledge can be easily applied to film made by all companies (such as ASA/ISO, grain characteristics, color tints, etc.). Visit the App Store if you think you can benefit from Kodak's latest venture into digital territory.

No word yet, for you fellow Android addicts, about it coming to our platform.
