iPhone 5s Camera Overview

Apple's annual keynote brought forth the obvious update to the iPhone 5, but we don't really care about 64-bit video games and HD finger scanners...What about the camera?

The iPhone 5s will apparently have a big update on the camera side, mainly a brand spanking new 5-element Apple designed lens with a faster f/2.2 aperture and 8MP sensor with 15 percent larger active sensor area. This means that they're going to make use of larger pixels instead of just slamming in pixels like the rest do. The new iOS 7 will be able to choose white balance, exposure level and and even creates a dynamic local tone map. You'll also be able to take a picture in burst mode for 10 frames a second and choose the sharpest shot.

Interestingly they've included a new flash with "true tone"...This means that it can change the flash's color temperature for a more natural flash, especially with skin tones. Everyone knows that little LEDs make for a blue undersea look, hopefully this will remedy that problem.

Other things to look out for are auto image stabilization, and from the looks of it image stabilization in post to correct shake. Another big feature that I'm sure will be a hit: slo-mo. The new iPhone supports 720p video at 120fps. You can even go in and select which parts you want to be slow and which parts you want normal.

The 5s looks like it's taking their imaging very seriously, taking the Lumia and Samsung Galaxy S4 head on. Unique Photo could possibly have this in stock in the near future, stay tuned for more info!
