Hasselblad Announces "Stellar" Compact

In space no one can hear you rebadge a camera...

Last year Hasselblad was very excited to announce the Lunar, a conceptually designed camera that looked more like faux art than a camera...This just turned out to be a much more expensive version of the Sony NEX-7 with a weird hand grip. The overall reaction was less than (ahem) stellar. A year later and Hasselblad is ready for lift off with another Sony-esque camera: The Stellar. This compact point and shoot steals a few looks from the Lunar, mainly a normal compact design with ornate hand grip jutting off it like a sore thumb. The RX100, I mean the Stellar comes equipped with a 28-100mm Zeiss lens, 20MP 1" sensor and hand grip made of "exotic wood"...Pricing is within the range of $1,600 and $3,200 depending the type of rare tree you want on your camera. Although the official announcement is technically a few days away, Hasselblad has already put up a website soo it's not much of a secret to anybody at this point. Expect the Stellar to crash land onto Earth at the end of the month.
