We've shown you the Konstruktor, a DIY kit that helps you build your own film camera. Here's a similar take in something digital: The Bigshot Camera is a do it yourself point and shoot camera that comes with everything to you need to make a fully functional camera. Aimed at ages 8-108, the Bigshot is an educational tool in assembling the basic parts of a camera and how they work together. Included in the kit is a 3 megapixel sensor, 1.4 inch LCD screen, and a Swiss army type lens that allows you to shoot normal, panorama and 3D. Although it's powered by an included lithium-ion battery, you could also power it by its hand crank. Priced at $89, the DIY camera might be a cheaper alternative than letting your curious kid dissect a camera you would like to keep intact.
