Film developing questions
35mm, 120, 220, 110 and 4x5 sheet film. Color (C-41), black and white, and slide film (E-6). Got something else, like 127, 620, APS or 8x10? Call or email the lab before you send it and we will tell you what we can do.
We do. Each store develops the film dropped off there, in its own lab, and mail-ins are done in Fairfield. Our technicians hand process and color correct every roll on our Fuji Frontier wet processing lab, and black and white times are adjusted roll by roll.
Look at the film name on the canister, the box or the paper on the roll. Type it into the order form and it will suggest the right process. Some black and white films, like Ilford XP2, are actually developed as color (C-41), and the form knows that. Still not sure? Pick your best guess and leave a note, or give the lab a call.
Size. Standard scans are plenty for Instagram, texting and 4x6 prints. If you want to blow a shot up big, crop way in, or edit in Lightroom, get high-res.
Yep. Slides, 35mm and 2 1/4, get scanned here by hand one at a time. For old snapshots, pick "Prints to scan" in the form and count them up. The more you send, the less each one costs.
Two ways. Bring your own USB drive with your film and we load the scans onto it, no charge. Or choose digital: we email you a download link, and the scans are also saved in your Unique Photo account so you can print from them later.
Place your order and pick a flat rate envelope or box. Once the order is confirmed we email you a prepaid USPS Priority Mail label. Print it, pack your film with a slip of paper showing your name and order number, and drop it at any post office. Mail-ins go to our lab in Fairfield, NJ.
The flat rate envelope is fine for a few rolls or a small stack of prints. Go with the box if you are sending a lot of film, sheet film, or photo albums.
Your choice. Pick them up at the lab, have us ship them back with your order, or tell us you do not need them and we will dispose of them once your order is done. Negatives left at the lab more than six months after drop-off are considered abandoned.
Of course. You can order online and drop it off at the Fairfield or Philadelphia lab to skip the wait at the counter, or bring it in and order right there.
Tell us in the notes box when you order (for example, "Portra 400 shot at 800" or "expired in 2005"), or call the lab first. That helps us handle it right.
