Learn the best practices for placing light on a person's face with cinematographer Mark Raker. Using live demonstration with a model, instructional video, film clips, and stills, Mark will illustrate how light may be positioned to take advantage of a subject’s facial structure and to convey beauty, strength, and most importantly – mood. Butterfly, Rembrandt, Split, Loop, and more will be discussed and demonstrated.

Lighting close-ups is the cornerstone of great cinematography and portraiture. This break-down helps to demystify the process and provide tools to express workshop participant’s creative wishes.
