BESS ADLER is a photojournalist based in Brooklyn, New York whose work has appeared in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Esquire, The New Yorker, AARP, National Geographic, among other publications.

She received a BFA for Photography and Imaging from New York University in 2008 and completed the Missouri Photo Workshop in 2013. She is amongst the winners of the 2017 PDN Storytellers Competition.

Her work explores the intricacies of community, most recently focusing on an elderly Taiwanese community in Atlanta, Haitian-American deportees in Haiti, and women bodybuilders.
