Learn how to increase the production value of your video interviews! There are many dynamic parts involved in making a simple interview setup really sing. You have to deal with cameras, lenses, lighting, audio, and, most of all, get great content. Learning how to shoot to be editable is important and Sony’s 4 Generation cameras offer unparalleled advantages with EYE AF when shooting video. The brand new Sony XLR-K3M unit is the first to allow Direct Digital Recording on a mirrorless camera.
Join Sony Artisan of Imagery Patrick Murphy-Racey as he assembles an entire kit, piece by piece, and builds the infrastructure of a high end full frame 4K capture system in front of the class. This will be a location style, two-camera, two microphone, two-light setup designed to emulate what you see on ESPN or CNN.
At the end, participants will be able to put the headphones on and watch the EyeAF work on a provided model. As Patrick will break everything down and go slowly through the entire setup, this is designed for beginners as well as seasoned pros who want to see what Sony has to offer to make their assignments easier and cost effective.

PATRICK MURPHY-RACEY's twenty-five year career has only and always been about photography. Murphy-Racey has seen a great variety of assignments since his start in newspapers, through the peak years of being a magazine freelancer, his tenure as a regular contributor to Sports Illustrated, and into the corporate and industrial world of annual reports and advertising. While his assignments are varied and come from many different sources, photojournalism is his first love and constantly informs every assignment.
Ever the chameleon, Murphy-Racey's career is a long series of re-inventions and rebirths, but the visual storytelling remains the same, even as the tools change. From 4x5 to 4K, he's technically inclined, and loves making great images. Patrick is more than competent covering just about any assignment, but his specialties include dramatic and creative use of strobe & LED lighting, sports action photography, environmental portraits, and powerful, well-lit HD interview video production. PM-R shoots both stills as well as motion and is always asking, "What's next?"
