Taken the day of the event. After the walk ended early, I decided to stick around and was lucky enough to capture this when the sun made a brief appearance. The rain also made for some great worm hunting afterward.

I was surprised at how warm it was on Mother’s Day — warm enough that this little robin decided to take a bath in a small tributary of the Rahway River running behind my in-laws’ house in Rahway.

This hummingbird glows in the warm evening light, revealing the remarkable precision, speed, and beauty hidden within a fleeting moment of nature.

Not to be outdone, this blue jay decided to take a bath in a small tributary of the Rahway River running behind my in-laws’ house in Rahway.

A moment suspended between motion and stillness. This hummingbird landed for only a fraction of a second, wings still beating at incredible speed while the body settled briefly into focus.

Not sure who was more surprised to see who here. Behind my in-laws’ house in Rahway, there’s a small tributary of the Rahway River that surprisingly supports plenty of wildlife.

Resting quietly at the feeder, this hummingbird reveals the intricate iridescent detail and calm beauty often hidden behind its rapid flight and endless motion.

One of the few images I captured that day during the event. The sun came out briefly, and the blue jays were making the best of it.

As the sun began to set, this hummingbird made a brief stop at the feeder, offering a quiet moment of beauty and connection within its natural habitat.
