MIKE ALEV

About

Mike Alev is a Staten Island-based photographer whose work is defined by the intersection of technical discipline and a lifelong passion for visual storytelling. Following a distinguished 40-year career in Information Technology, Alev has transitioned to a full-time photographic practice, leveraging his early professional experience as a studio photographer and his extensive history of global travel. Utilizing the high-resolution capabilities of the Canon EOS R6 Mark II, his portfolio spans landscape, portraiture, and still life, with a specialized documentary focus on the "isolated artery" of the Staten Island Railway. Through a refined, observational lens, Alev explores the friction between urban infrastructure and the natural landscape, seeking to document the world with clarity, character, and a profound respect for the interplay of light and form.
