Why does my Godox AD200 Pro fire inconsistently with a trigger?

My Godox AD200 Pro doesn’t fire every time when used with a wireless trigger. I’ve already changed to a higher channel and set the ID. What are the most common causes of unreliable firing, and what settings or checks should I try?

Usually there are some common points that might influence the reliability of the Godox strobes:
- Distance - the sender has two menu options here. One setting for distant strobes and one for very close strobes. Many users report unreliable shots when using close distance to strobes when not applying the 0-n meter setting. On the Xpro trigger, e.g. go to menu -> Scroll down to dist -> set 0-30m.
- Battery level - although the sender seems to run fine on rechargeable batteries, some users reported unreliable function with half empty batteries or rechargeables.
- Interference - this can be either other devices using the same band like WIFI hotspots, which then can be helped by trying out other channels - or in some cases structural obstacles either hidden in the walls or visible.
- Using it too fast - the obvious thing, but sometimes even that might happen. If you are not sure, if that is the case, enable the recharge beep on the device to hear if you can take another shot.
- Flash bothered by itself - I had one photo session, where the flash switched back to full power from time to time. This ended after taking out the batteries and restarting the flash.

Common causes of inconsistent firing with a Godox AD200 Pro are usually trigger setup, batteries, range settings, or radio interference.
Things to check:
- Distance setting on the trigger: some Godox transmitters have a distance/range menu. If the flash is nearby, use the close-range setting (often 0–30 m). Using the wrong distance mode can cause missed shots.
- Battery level: weak batteries in the trigger can cause unreliable firing even if it powers on normally. Fresh batteries are worth trying.
- Interference: Wi‑Fi and other 2.4 GHz devices can interfere. Try a different channel.
- Obstacles/positioning: walls, metal structures, or other obstructions can reduce radio reliability. Reposition the trigger or flash if possible.
- Channel and ID match: confirm both the trigger and AD200 Pro are set to the same channel and wireless ID.
If you’ve already changed channel and ID, the next best steps are to check the trigger’s distance mode, install fresh batteries, and test in a less obstructed environment.
