Why are photos cropped when shooting in Live View on my Canon T3i?

On my Canon EOS Rebel T3i, photos look normal when I compose through the viewfinder. But when I use the rear LCD in Live View, I see two blue guide lines and the image is cropped to those lines when I take the shot. What setting causes this, and how do I return to the full image area?

It's on page 129 of the EOS Rebel T3i/600D Instruction Manual
It appears your camera is currently set to 16:9. To do what you want, you need to set it to 3:2.

Generated from our catalog & community — verify before relying on it.
Your camera is likely set to a different aspect ratio, specifically 16:9. In Live View, the T3i shows guide lines for that crop, and the saved image is cropped accordingly.
To get the full sensor area back, change the aspect ratio to 3:2, which is the camera’s native still-photo format. Once set to 3:2, the blue crop lines should disappear and your photos will use the full frame again.
If needed, check the T3i/600D manual section covering aspect ratio settings in Live View.
