If the rangefinder seems calibrated but photos are still soft at infinity, the likely issue is the lens’s infinity stop or flange-to-film distance, not just the rangefinder adjustment. The lens may not actually be reaching true infinity focus, so distant subjects stay blurred while closer areas look sharper.

The fix is to adjust the lens’s infinity stop so the optical unit can move slightly closer to the film plane. On rangefinder cameras, the rangefinder can indicate focus correctly only if the lens itself is mechanically able to reach the right position.

If you’re using an adapted lens, this is a common problem. Also avoid adapters with correction glass, since they usually reduce image quality.
