I found the serial number easily on the first-generation Tamron 150-600mm (A011), but I can’t locate it on the G2 version (A022). I did receive a small printout with the serial number, but I’d like to know where it is physically marked on the lens.

Well, shoot. It's stamped right on the zoom ring, in line with the focal length index, very tiny.
