I found the serial number easily on the first-generation Tamron 150-600mm (A011), but I can’t locate it on the G2 version (A022). I did receive a small printout with the serial number, but I’d like to know where it is physically marked on the lens.

On the Tamron SP 150-600mm F/5-6.3 Di VC USD G2 (A022), the serial number is stamped very small on the zoom ring, aligned roughly with the focal length index mark. It can be hard to see because the lettering is faint and low-contrast, so you may need bright angled light to read it clearly.
