I need to replace the battery compartment door on my Sony NEX-F3 after it broke. I haven’t been able to find the part online. Are replacement battery doors available to buy, or do I need to go through Sony/service repair?

As a mere mortal, you probably can't. Selling parts is a hassle, and additionally most companies protect their authorized service centers in this way. So, your choices are probably one of:
Send the camera in for repair. If the door came of as part of normal use, I would expect that to be covered under warranty.
Look out for broken cameras of the same model on eBay or other online auction sites. People sometimes try to get a few dollars out of electronics that don't work, and maybe you will get lucky there.

Replacement battery doors for older cameras like the Sony NEX-F3 are often not sold directly to consumers. In many cases, manufacturers reserve small parts for authorized service centers.
Your most practical options are:
- Send the camera to Sony or an authorized repair center for replacement.
- Check warranty coverage if the door failed during normal use.
- Look for a donor camera or parts camera on eBay or similar marketplaces, where broken NEX-F3 bodies may be sold for spares.
If you can’t find the part listed separately online, a repair center or used-parts source is usually the best route.
