What should I use to sign limited-edition photo prints on Canson Baryta satin paper?

I’m preparing framed exhibition prints on Canson Baryta satin paper with a small white border left for numbering and signing. A regular pencil doesn’t write well on this paper, and the pens I’ve tried look too dark. Is there a pen or pencil-like option that will write on baryta/satin photo paper while giving a softer, pencil-like appearance?

I routinely print on Canson Baryta paper. I leave a white border around the image and sign with a Pigma Micron archival ink pen. It is black, but the do have other colors.

A practical option is an archival ink pen such as a Pigma Micron, which is known to work on Canson Baryta when signing in the white border. It writes reliably where a normal pencil may not.

If black looks too strong, look for other available pen colors to get a softer appearance. The key point is to use an archival pen so the signature is stable over time, especially for exhibition or limited-edition prints.
