My CCTV lens has three control rings marked with pairs of letters: W/T, O/C, and N/F. The lens is labeled 2.8–12mm. What does each set of markings mean, and which ring controls focus, aperture, and zoom?

"W"ide and "T"elephoto - i.e. they will control the zoom - as opposed to "N"ear and "F"ar which control the focus.

On a 2.8–12mm CCTV lens, those markings usually mean:

  • W / T = Wide / Telephoto → this is the zoom ring
  • O / C = Open / Close → this is the aperture/iris control
  • N / F = Near / Far → this is the focus ring

So your lens has separate controls for zoom, aperture, and focus. Because it’s a zoom lens, changing the zoom setting can also affect focus, so it’s normal to adjust both the W/T and N/F rings to get a sharp image at the framing you want.
