I need software that can edit EXIF metadata, specifically the exposure mode field. I tried Picasa, but it does not support changing that property. What tools can do this?

Yes. Tools commonly recommended for editing EXIF metadata include ExifTool and Jhead. ExifTool is often the most flexible option for reading and modifying many EXIF fields, including less common tags, though it can be less beginner-friendly because it is typically command-line based. Jhead is another capable utility for examining and modifying EXIF data. If Picasa cannot edit the exposure mode tag, a dedicated metadata tool like one of these is the better choice.
