Photos show on my Canon EOS 60D but not on my computer after copying them

My Canon EOS 60D displays the photos on the camera, but after copying them to my laptop they do not appear there. This started after I tried the camera's copyright function. What could cause images to be visible on the camera but not on the computer, and how can I view them?

What did you see on your SD card? Did you change anything else? Maybe you updated from JPEG mode to RAW and have no utility installed yet on your pc for viewing RAW files? If so try picasa or any other RAW viewer. Your canon should come with a cd with software. A viewer for instance with support for RAW images.

The most likely cause is that the camera is saving images as RAW files rather than JPEGs, and your computer doesn’t have software or a codec installed that can display that RAW format. The copyright setting itself is unlikely to be the reason the files won’t show.
