Is a wobbling Nikon PC-E 24mm tilt knob normal?

I received a Nikon PC-E 24mm lens that may have been poorly packaged in transit. The large tilt knob was slightly pulled out when I unpacked it, and it wiggles side to side much more than the shift knob. After pushing it back in, it still feels loose and wobbly. I haven’t used this lens before, so I’m trying to confirm whether that amount of movement is normal or if it likely indicates shipping damage.

That is not normal. None of the knobs on my 24mm PC-E pull out or wobble like that, and they are not meant to.
