How should I remove stuck dust spots from my Sony a6000 sensor?

My Sony a6000 has two round dust spots that only show up in bright areas of photos. I’ve already tried a hand blower and the camera’s built-in sensor cleaning, but the spots didn’t move. Is it safe to use a sensor swab lightly on the sensor, or is this something better left to a service center?

If blower cleaning and the camera’s built-in cleaning don’t remove the spots, they may need a proper wet sensor-cleaning process rather than more blowing.

A sensor can be cleaned with a sensor swab, but it should be done only with the correct tools, cleaning fluid, and careful technique in a clean environment. It’s not something to improvise, and if you’re anxious about damaging the sensor, that’s a good sign to be cautious.

Best advice: either learn the dedicated process thoroughly from several reputable sensor-cleaning tutorials before attempting it, or send the camera to a service department. Don’t rely on a single video or random method. The key is using the right methodology and materials, not just touching the sensor lightly.

Normally I do not only post a link. Now I am going to do just that:

Cleaning a sensor is a dedicated process that needs to be done in specific working conditions, specific tools and solutions. So explore some of those videos and see if you want to do it yourself or send it to a service department.

Do not just watch one. Take your time and see diferent ones and you will be grasping which has a good methodology to do it.
