I want to take long-exposure photos with my Canon EOS 600D. I’ve seen advice saying to use Bulb mode, but I couldn’t find it on the camera. How do I enable Bulb mode on the 600D, and is there a better way to trigger the shutter for long exposures without causing camera shake?

Get Magic Lantern.
Opens up a whole load of neat stuff including an intervalometer. And it's free!

Yes—the Canon EOS 600D has Bulb mode. Set the top mode dial to Manual (M), then turn the control dial left until the shutter speed display reaches BULB. In Bulb mode, the shutter stays open for as long as the shutter button is held down.
For better long exposures, use a remote shutter release or intervalometer so you don’t have to press the camera directly, which helps reduce vibration. A compatible remote release can also let you lock the shutter open more easily.
If you want extra features, some users install Magic Lantern, which can add tools such as an intervalometer, but Bulb mode is already built into the camera.
For best results, use a tripod and minimize camera movement during the exposure.
