How do I remove a film roll from darktable’s Collect Images?

I’m new to darktable and created several film rolls by importing folders. Some of those film rolls are no longer needed, but I can’t find any direct way to remove them from the Collect Images view. How can I delete an unwanted film roll without deleting the actual image files from my computer?

There is indeed no remove button for film rolls in darktable; according to the program's developers, this is a feature, not a bug.
You can remove a film roll, however, by opening the roll, selecting all photos in the roll and clicking 'remove' under 'selected image(s)' in the right-hand toolbar. This will remove those photos from darktable's database but not delete the photos from your file system (if the latter outcome is desired, click 'trash' instead).

darktable doesn’t provide a separate “remove film roll” button in Collect Images. To get rid of a film roll, open that roll, select all of its images, and click remove in the selected image(s) panel on the right. This removes those photos from darktable’s database, which also makes the film roll disappear if it no longer contains any images. Your files stay on disk. If you instead want the files deleted from your computer, use trash rather than remove.
