How can I power a Canon EOS 1200D from a wall outlet for continuous use?

I use a Canon EOS 1200D (Rebel T5) for live streaming and would like to run it from mains power instead of relying on LP-E10 batteries. Is there an official Canon adapter or coupler for continuous wall power, rather than USB power?

After a lot of searching, I found the DR-E10 DC Coupler on the Canon website. Clearly when I was originally searching I was using the wrong key terms in my searches on google.

More searching then revealed that that adapter doesn't have the AC cord with it, so a better option would be the Canon ACK-E10 Adaptor (not on Canon UK store, so found on Amazon | Was listed on the Canon US site for the Rebel T5 aka the 1200D)

Yes. The EOS 1200D / Rebel T5 can be powered from mains using Canon’s dummy-battery AC solution for the LP-E10 system.

The key parts mentioned are:

  • Canon DR-E10 DC Coupler — this fits in place of the LP-E10 battery
  • Canon ACK-E10 AC Adapter Kit — the more complete option, since it includes the coupler and AC power components needed for wall power

So if you want a straightforward wall-power setup, look for the ACK-E10. If you already have some of the power components, the DR-E10 is the battery-shaped coupler piece used inside the camera.

Also note that the 1200D is sold as the Rebel T5 in some regions, so searching under either name may help when shopping.
