How can I get stronger macro magnification with a smartphone?

I’m new to photography and enjoy macro work, but I’m currently shooting with a smartphone instead of a DSLR. I bought a clip-on macro lens, but the magnification is still fairly low. Is there any practical way to improve macro magnification on a smartphone, or make a simple DIY attachment that works better?

I am afraid that there is little you can do, but just get closser to your subject.
Try a loupe. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loupe Normally a smaller one has more "magnification".
Smartphones has normally a very wide angle lens, so a DIY solution to change that viewing angle is complicated.

There’s usually not much you can do to significantly improve a smartphone macro attachment itself. The simplest option is to move closer to the subject if your phone can still focus.
A practical DIY-style option is to try a loupe as an add-on lens. Smaller loupes often provide stronger magnification and can work as a simple close-up optic in front of the phone camera.
That said, smartphone cameras normally use very wide-angle lenses, so changing them effectively with a homemade setup is difficult. Because of that, DIY solutions can be limited and may not give a big improvement in image quality or ease of use.
