How can I automate HDR exposure sequences on a Canon EOS 200D?

I’m using a Canon EOS 200D and the built-in HDR mode is too limited because it only saves JPEGs and doesn’t offer much control. I’ve been trying to shoot HDR brackets manually in Tv mode by changing the shutter speed between shots, but it’s too slow for scenes with movement. Does the 200D have a way to automatically take a sequence of bracketed exposures for HDR, ideally saving the original files for later processing?

Lookup exposure bracketing in the manual. (Sorry, I don't have a 200D manual handy at the moment.) This is what you want. It is implemented on just about every Canon DSLR, if not every one. It's typically found in the menu options related to exposure.

Yes. What you want is Auto Exposure Bracketing (AEB), which is built into the Canon EOS 200D. It automatically captures a sequence of exposures at different brightness levels, so you don’t need to change shutter speed manually between shots.
On the 200D, AEB is covered in the manual (pages 176–177 in the Rebel SL2 / EOS 200D manual). By default, the camera shoots the middle exposure first, then a darker one, then a brighter one.
This is the standard way to create HDR source images with more control than the camera’s built-in HDR JPEG mode. You can then merge the bracketed shots later in software.
For best results, use a tripod whenever possible so the frames align more easily, especially for static scenes. AEB will be much faster and more reliable than manually rotating the control wheel between each shot.
