Does Time Machine back up Lightroom edits on a Mac?

If I back up my MacBook Pro with Time Machine, will it also back up Adobe Lightroom? More specifically, are my Lightroom edits saved with the photos, or are they stored somewhere else such as the Lightroom catalog?

I am not Mac user, but as long as Time Machine will backup Lightroom catalog you'll have backup of your edits.

Lightroom catalog (lrcat file extension) is a database file where all edits and metadata are stored. It is universal file, so If you move it to other machine (preserving paths to photos) you will also be able to have you edits elsewhere.

Yes—if Time Machine includes your Lightroom catalog in the backup, your edits are backed up.

In Lightroom, edits and metadata are typically stored in the catalog file (.lrcat), which is a database. The original photo files usually are not changed by Lightroom edits. That means your adjustments will follow the images only if you restore or move the catalog along with the photos.

If you open that catalog on another machine, your edits should appear there too, as long as the photo files are still in the expected locations or you reconnect them.
