Can you use exposure compensation with Auto ISO in Manual mode on a Canon 60D?

On a Canon 60D, I want to shoot in Manual mode so I can lock shutter speed and aperture, but leave ISO on Auto for changing light. Is there a way to apply exposure compensation in this setup so the camera changes only ISO—for example, adding about +1 stop when spot metering skin tones in low light? If not, what’s the quickest manual workaround?

Set your desired shutter speed and aperture. Meter off the skin tones. Adjust ISO until the meter shows one stop of over exposure. Shoot.

On the 60D, the practical workaround is to do it manually rather than relying on exposure compensation with Auto ISO in Manual mode.
Set the shutter speed and aperture you want, meter from the skin tones, then raise the ISO until the meter indicates about +1 stop. That gives you the exposure bias you want while keeping shutter and aperture fixed.
So the fast method is:
- Choose your shutter speed.
- Choose your aperture.
- Meter off the subject’s skin.
- Adjust ISO until the meter reads the desired offset, such as +1.
- Shoot.
This achieves the same result you’re after: only ISO changes, while your depth of field and motion control stay constant.
