Can I recover photos taken on a Sony RX100 without an SD card inserted?

I used a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 and only later realized there was no SD card in the camera. I expected the camera might have internal storage, but I can’t find any way to access photos from the camera itself. Is there any internal memory on this model, or any way to recover the images taken without a card?

Typically, cameras today have only temporary internal memory, not persistent storage. That is meant to hold photos as they are being processed and written to your memory card, and cannot be used as a replacement for one.
I'm afraid your photos are lost — they were never recorded.
Most cameras flash a warning when no card is in use, and have a setting where no photos can be taken in that case. (I imagine the only reason to allow otherwise is to demo the camera on shop floors.)

Probably not. Based on the answers, the RX100 does not provide usable internal photo storage for normal shooting without a memory card. Cameras may have temporary internal buffer memory used while processing images before writing them to the card, but that is not persistent storage you can browse or recover from later.
