Can I batch-correct the date and time on Canon RAW files?

My camera’s date/time was set incorrectly for about a month, but the error was consistent across all the shots. If I know or can estimate the correct date and time for the first photo, is there a tool that can batch-adjust the timestamps on the rest of the images, including Canon RAW/CR2 files?

Yes — either ExifTool or Exiv2 will do this and can work on RAW files, including CR2. And they work on Linux, Mac, or Windows.

Yes. Tools like ExifTool and Exiv2 can batch-edit EXIF date/time metadata on RAW files, including Canon CR2 files. Since your camera clock was consistently wrong, you can calculate the offset from a known image and apply that same correction across the full set. Both tools are commonly used for this kind of metadata fix and are available on Linux, macOS, and Windows. Before making changes, it’s wise to back up the files or test on a copy first.
