Can Adobe Bridge CS5 save custom Content panel column visibility permanently?

In Adobe Bridge CS5, I hide unwanted columns in the Content panel by right-clicking the column headers and unchecking or closing them. However, when I switch folders, the columns come back, and sometimes they even reappear in the folder I already changed. Is there a way to make column visibility changes stick permanently across folders?

No, you can't. You can right click and choose "Close Column" but they will reappear at the right. You can set it up as you like it, then create a custom workspace, but guess what, they always come back!
The best you can do is either drag and drop them to the right hand side, out of the way, or "close column" (or uncheck them).

No. In Bridge CS5, column visibility in the Content panel does not reliably stay hidden across folder changes. Even if you uncheck or close columns, they can reappear when you browse to another directory.
Creating a custom workspace may preserve some layout choices, but according to user experience here, the hidden columns still tend to come back.
The practical workaround is to drag unwanted columns to the far right so they are out of the way, or use the Close Column/uncheck option knowing it is not permanent.
