Can a Nikon D3300 LCD screen be used in a Nikon D3000?

My Nikon D3000 powers on, but the LCD has dim corners. Before I look for a replacement, I want to know whether an LCD from a Nikon D3300 would be compatible with the D3000, either electrically or mechanically.

Most probably not because D3300 LCD has higher resolution. There's almost no chance the firmware would detect new resolution (not all display types even transmit than information) let alone adapt to it even if it's mechanically compatible (what's also not in any way guaranteed).
