Are Raynox close-up lenses compatible with the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro, and can I still use the Macro Twin Flash?

I’m considering Raynox close-up/magnifier attachments such as the DCR-125, DCR-250, or MSN-202/MSN-5320 for use on a Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro lens. Are these generally compatible with the lens? Also, would using one interfere with mounting or using the Canon Macro Twin Flash?

As long as the thread size of the magnifier and the lens match, there will be no 'compatibility' issues - it's just a screw thread after all.
The flash is a different matter however. If the magnifier is a straightforward screw on type you shouldn't have a problem, but if clips on you may face difficulties.
Personally I wouldn't use a magnifier filter in any case: I would use extension tubes.

Yes—mechanically, a close-up lens is compatible as long as its mounting method matches the lens filter thread, or you use the correct adapter. If it’s a normal screw-in attachment, there’s generally no special compatibility issue beyond thread size.
The Macro Twin Flash is the part to check more carefully. A screw-in close-up lens may still work, but a clip-on style attachment could interfere with the flash mount or ring arrangement at the front of the lens.
So the key points are:
- confirm the lens filter thread size
- confirm how the Raynox attachment mounts
- make sure the front of the lens remains usable for the Macro Twin Flash hardware
If your goal is higher macro magnification, extension tubes are also a common alternative and may avoid front-mount interference.
