Hilltop Reservation
284 acres on Second Watchung Mountain, on the grounds of the old Essex Mountain Sanatorium. A piece of the 36-mile Lenape Trail runs through it. The highest point in Essex County, 691 feet, is in the Hilltop section of North Caldwell.
Sandford-Stager House
Stone and frame farmhouse you can see from East Greenbrook Road, with a blue historical marker on the lawn. The marker says the oldest part went up around 1775 and the Stager family lived here until 1906. Shoot from the road.
The house used for the outside shots of the Soprano home in HBO's The Sopranos is in North Caldwell. It is a private home.
