Film Photowalk and Developing with Obscura Darkroom

Key Features
Join Unique and fellow film photography enthusiasts for a fun afternoon of shooting at Branch Brook Park (Park Avenue and Lake Street, Newark, NJ 07104)! Bring your film cameras and meet up with our instructors, Robbie and Lucas, at the Welcome Center. They'll lead you through scenic areas of the park to photograph cherry blossoms, lakes, birds, and more.
After roughly two hours, the photowalk will conclude and everyone will meet back up at the nearby Obscura Darkroom (50-60 Dickerson St, Newark NJ 07103) for 4:00pm. Established in 2019, Obscura Darkroom is a community film darkroom with 6 black and white enlargers and ample room for processing both film and prints. We'll get a tour of the darkroom and discuss their B&W film processing methods.
If you shot with B&W film at the photowalk, this registration will also give you the opportunity to develop that roll of film yourself! Chemicals, equipment, and instruction will be provided by our instructors and Obscura Darkroom. This process will take roughly 1-1.5 hours.
ADDED BONUS: You'll also receive a voucher for free film scanning for one roll at our Unique Photo Lab (Fairfield).
*Limited to 8 registrants.
*This photowalk is specifically for film photography.
*Street parking is available outside of Obscura Darkroom.
