The Nikon D610 DSLR Camera (With AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8G Lens includes the Nikon D610 DSLR Camera body, which is a full-frame, FX-format, DSLR camera, with a 24.3 megapixel CMOS sensor, & EXPEED 3 image processor, for high-resolution stills. The Nikon D610 is also capable of shooting full HD 1080p video, with great detail, & low-light sensitivity, expandable to ISO 25600. The Nikon D610 DSLR Camera Kit includes Nikon's AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8G Lens, which is a classic, normal-length prime lens, that features a bright maximum aperture, & lightweight design. The lens's 50mm focal length, makes it suitable for a wide variety of shooting scenarios, including anything from landscape, to portraiture, making it a great choice for getting started out of the box. Its f/1.8 maximum aperture makes it great for working in difficult lighting conditions, & provides the ability to experience more control during selective focusing techniques.

The lens includes one aspherical element, & a super integrated coating, to assist with spherical aberrations, distortion, flare, & ghosting, while improving sharpness, accurate rendering, contrast, & color accuracy in your images. Its Silent Wave Motor provides a fast, precise, & quiet autofocusing performance, as well as full-time manual focus override. The lens is capable of being used with Nikon DX models, where it will provide a 75mm equivalent focal length. Its rounded, seven-blade diaphragm, provides a pleasing, bokeh quality, during the use of selective focusing techniques.

The Nikon D610 DSLR Camera features an AF System, that features 39 AF points, for fast & precise focusing, throughout a range of lighting conditions (From -1 to +19 EV). The AF System features an intelligent "Scene Recognition System", that is generally reserved for exposure metering, & is designed to improve your focusing performance, by analyzing & indentifying your regular panning, & tracking-based, shooting styles. Its phase-detection focusing method provides selectable AF-area modes, such as Single-point AF mode, 3D-tracking mode, Dynamic-area AF mode, & Auto-area AF mode.

The D610 DSLR Camera features a 24.3 megapixel, full-frame (FX) CMOS sensor, & EXPEED 3 image processor, which work together to provide an overall, high image-quality, with great detail, color accuracy, dynamic range, & low-light sensitivity (Native ISO: 6400, Expandable: ISO 25600). The processor provides a great amount of speed to the D610 camera, & supports full HD 1080p video recording, as well as a continuous shooting-rate of 6 fps. The sensor & image processor also enable a continuous quiet-mode, for recording a sequence of images, at 3 fps, without having to raise or lower the camera's reflex mirror. The sensor is also capable of recording imagery in DX-format, & is designed to automatically switch, to support the use of DX-dedicated lenses, when attached.

Screen:

The Nikon D610 DSLR Camera features a 3.2" LCD Monitor (921K-Dot), for clear, & bright, image playback, as well as menu navigation, & live-view monitoring.

Image & Video

Image:

The D610 DSLR Camera features Auto ISO Sensitivity Control, which allows you to select a minimum shutter-speed, at which camera-shake can be controlled, & the D610 will automatically set the ISO value, for maximum-quality scene-rendering. This features also allows for a maximum sensitivity level to be set, in order to maintain the overall noise levels. The camera's low-light sensitivity is expandable to ISO 25600, allowing you to capture great detail, in more difficult lighting conditions.

The D610 allows you to record RAW (NEF) files as lossless compressed, or compressed, at either 12, or 14-bit depth. Built-in HDR is featured to extend the tonal & exposure-range of a single image, by recording two, separate exposures, & blending them together, in order to provide greater highlight, & shadow details, with a further-extended range of mid-tones. This feature provides a smoothness to the edge of your image, that can be adjusted, where the two separate exposures meet.

An in-camera virtual horizon, is designed to detect horizontal inclinations, as well as forward, or rear inclinations, & displays an electronic level, on the LCD monitor, to help you align your shot. A variety of "Picture Control Modes", & "Scene Modes", are included, to provide a vast amount of creative possibilities for your images. The D610 includes automated time-lapse photography, which allows you to record images, at set intervals, to save as a video file, for a smooth & fluid playback, of a slow-motion shot of activity, over a period of time.

Video:

The Nikon D610 is designed to support Full HD 1080p Video Recording (1920 x 1080p), in 30, 25, & 24 fps frame-rates. HD 720p is also supported, in multiple frame rates, in the PMEG-4 AVC/H.264 format.

Manual exposure control is available, during recording, through the adjustment of your aperture settings, shutter speed, & ISO settings. Full-time autofocus can also be set, with subject-tracking, & face-detection capabilities. An external microphone input, headphone-jack, & HDMI output are all included in the camera body's design, for real-time monitoring of recorded sound, & for enabling HD playback of your video footage. The HDMI output also is capable of supporting uncompressed recordings of HD video, via the use of a separately available external recorder.

The included Nikon MB-D14 Multi Battery Power Pack is designed to enhance the grip & handling capabilities of your Nikon D610, & also serves as an option for extending your battery life. If used with the separately available, MS-D14 AA Battery Holder (Click to View), this battery pack is capable of holding up to two EN-EL3e lithium-ion batteries (the kit includes one EN-EL3e battery), or six, separately available, AA batteries, for an increased amount of camera-use. 

The MB-D14 Multi Battery Power Pack's design includes a grip, that will improve your vertical-shooting experience, & an additional shutter-release button. An AE/AF lock button, multi-selector, & main/sub-command dials are also incorporated into the MB-D14's design, for intuitive handling.
