The Canon PowerShot G1 X Mark III Digital Camera offers excellent photo and video quality along with accurate autofocus. This camera has a 3× zoom lens fitted at the front, which comes with a variable focal length of 24–72mm. The 24.2 MP APS-C CMOS sensor, and the DIGIC 7 image processors boost the camera’s performance in low light and provide an ISO range of 100–25600. You can use the continuous shooting mode to capture a fast-action moment in a sequence of photos. The camera has an electronic viewfinder that gives a 2.36 million dot resolution view, while the 3-inch LCD can be tilted to suit any shooting technique. You can also use the built-in flash or connect an external flash unit to the hot shoe. The camera runs on an NB-13L rechargeable Li-ion battery.

Optics and Focus

The PowerShot G1 X Mark III features a zoom lens with a variable focal length of 24–72mm. You can adjust the aperture of the lens to obtain the perfect exposure. The lens offers an optical zoom of 3× magnification and a digital zoom of 4×. The camera's focus system includes up to 49 AF points and employs contrast and phase detection to get consistent autofocus in the photo and video modes. The camera captures images in varied light conditions thanks to its wide ISO range of 100–25600. You can increase the camera’s shutter speed up to 1/2000th of a second when taking shots of a fast-moving object.

Sensor and Screen

The PowerShot G1 X Mark III camera is equipped with a 24.2 MP APS-C CMOS sensor that provides high-resolution images with minimum noise. With the 3-inch TFT LCD, you get a 1040K-dot resolution live view. The electronic OLED viewfinder offers a 2360K-dot resolution view. Both the LCD and viewfinder provide 100% screen coverage.

Image and Video

The Canon PowerShot G1 X Mark III captures 6000×4000 dpi resolution images in JPEG and RAW formats. This camera can record 1080p videos at 60 fps in MPEG-4 and H.264 formats. The DIGIC 7 image processor facilitates the capture of burst photos at 7 fps in the continuous shooting mode. You can also capture shots at 9 fps with the One Shot AF feature. Optical image stabilization allows you to click blur-free photographs and record videos without worrying about camera shakes even when shooting handheld.

Other Features

Wi-Fi, NFC, and Bluetooth connectivity options enable you to transfer images to smartphones wirelessly. The camera incorporates a flash unit effective to a range of up to 9m. The hot shoe also accepts electronic flash units that synchronize with the shutter at 1/2000th of a second. You can use the self-timer to set the shutter-release delay anywhere between 2 and 10 seconds. A USB 2.0 interface is provided for facilitating transfer of captured images to your PC at 480 Mbps. The NB-13L rechargeable Li-ion battery makes the camera shoot up to 200 images on a full charge.
