Get Published in Chimera/Hensel Upcoming National Ad Campaign
During the “open house meet and greet”, photographers will have the chance to have their portfolio reviewed by keynote speaker Jarmo Pohjaniemi for entry into the Chimera/Hensel National Ad Campaign Photo Contest. The winner of Chimera’s Star Photographer Search will be flown to Chimera’s chosen shooting location which will be announced at a later time.
KEYNOTE SPEAKER Jarmo Pohjaniemi
Jarmo bought his first camera at age 19 or 20 and his passion for photography began in earnest. The major transition came when fashion icon and photographer Bruce Weber introduced Jarmo to the other side of the camera. Once behind the lens, Jarmo made steady progress until he took a giant leap by calling up a Playboy photo director with an ambitious proposal. He told the director he loved and admired the magazine but there was one problem, to which he added, “I can do this better.” The director sternly and calmly replied, “Shoot two girlfriends of yours, send me the film, and I’ll tell you how much you suck!” Jarmo took the challenge and impressed the editor enough to start getting spec assignments. Jarmo's hard work and determination, his career continued to grow, all the way to Playboy’s legendary Studio West. Jarmo continues to shoot for Playboy Magazine to this day with countless publication covers, pictorials, and Playmate shoots to his credit. Jarmo also excels in shooting spreads and editorials for the discerning fashion industry. "Lighting is the magic that brings out the best in both the model and the merchandise, a delicate yet important balance" is Jarmos's comments on shooting fashion.
