The Yashica Lynx-14 is a 35mm rangefinder camera that was first introduced in 1965. It has a fixed Yashinon-DX 45mm f/1.4 lens and a built-in CDS cell light meter. The Yashica Copal-SV shutter offers a maximum shutter speed of 1/500th of a second. You can compose the shot easily with the parallax corrected viewfinder. There is a reference needle in the viewfinder as well as in the top window, which shows the current exposure value. The split image viewfinder aids you when focusing on a subject. An external flash can be attached to the camera's accessory shoe. The camera uses a 1.3 V mercury battery to power its electronic light meter and mounted flash.
The camera comes with a fixed Yashinon-DX lens that has a 45mm focal length for capturing wide-angle shots. With the aperture opening of f/1.4, the image gets a pleasant shallow depth of field. The optical construction of the lens includes 7 elements arranged in 5 groups. This camera allows you to adjust the exposure setting by using built-in CDS cell light meter. The Yashica Copal-SV shutter can speed up to a maximum limit of 1/500th of a second. You can manually focus on a subject with the split-image rangefinder.
This Yashica rangefinder camera has a bright-frame viewfinder that has parallax correction marks to make you aware of where the image is getting cut-off. In the viewfinder, an exposure meter is given to show you the current setting. When the metering needle is on the right or left, the exposure amount is too high or low. Also, a small window is located at the top, which indicates the exposure setting.
The camera uses 35mm film rolls for image capture. With the advance lever, you can manually wind the film after each shot. The number of exposed frames are denoted in the frame counter.
An accessory shoe is provided to mount an external flash to the camera. You have to use the PC terminal to make a connection between the camera and mounted flash. Flash synchronization can be done at all shutter speeds. You can delay the shutter release with the self-timer. The camera is powered by a 1.3 V mercury battery. This Yashica camera has a rigid metal body.
