Condition: Good

The Nikon Nikkormat FTN SLR Camera is designed for those who enjoy analog film photography. It can be used with lenses having an F mount. The camera has a built-in exposure-metering system and an ASA sensitivity range of up to 1600. The aperture can be adjusted manually from f/1.2 to f/5.6, which allows you to capture photos in different lighting environments. A dedicated Depth-of-Field (DOF) preview button is provided in the camera. The maximum shutter speed at which this camera can click images of moving objects is 1/1000th of a second. It has a pentaprism viewfinder that displays the selected shutter speed and warns if the exposure is too high or too low. Other features in the camera include a self-timer, tripod socket, and self-resetting counter.

Optics and Focus

The Nikkormat FTN SLR camera comes with a built-in center-weighted exposure-metering system that provides meter sensitivity of EV 3–17 at ASA 100. The camera has a metal focal-plane shutter that has a maximum speed of 1/1000th of a second. It allows you to click pictures of moving objects or a fast-paced event in detail. For focusing, the camera uses the focusing screen in the viewfinder, which is a matte field having a central microprism spot.

Sensor and Screen

The Nikon Nikkormat FTN SLR has an automatic aperture-recognition system that suggests the required exposure setting for the given aperture. The camera comes with an eye-level pentaprism viewfinder that has needles to indicate the shutter speed and aperture as well as low and high exposure.

Image and Video

This Nikon camera works well with 35mm films that have an ASA sensitivity of 12–1600. After the photo is clicked, the film can be advanced by using the single-stroke lever. You may also use the lever as an on-off switch for the camera.

Other Features

This SLR camera from Nikon comes with X and M flash terminals that let you attach a speedlight and flashbulb, respectively. A frame counter is provided at the top for denoting the number of exposed frames. You may use the self-timer to delay the shutter release by 10 seconds. A 1.3V mercury battery is used for the Nikon Nikkormat FTN SLR. This camera has a DOF preview button that lets you check the depth of field in images. Its chrome body offers resistance to corrosion.
