Click lifelike images with the Nikon F4 SLR camera. The comes with an MB-21 battery pack. Any Nikon F mount lens can be attached to the camera. For exposure, the camera uses a multi-matrix metering system. There are three auto exposure modes in the camera as well as a manual mode. It makes the camera work in the range of EV 2 and EV 21. This camera has a maximum ISO sensitivity up to 5000 for DX coded films and 6400 in manual mode. The camera has three flash modes PH, P and A. Other functions in the camera include an autofocus mode, auto-exposure lock, automatic film rewind, self-timer, and a standard accessory shoe.
Optics and Focus
The camera has a multi-matrix metering system with DP-20 finder. It provides a working range of EV 2 and EV 21. Nikon F4 comes with four exposure modes, shutter priority, aperture priority, stopped down, and manual. There is a programmed AE mode if you are using CPU-integrated lenses. In manual mode, you may adjust the exposure between 6 to 6400 in 1/3 EV steps. The camera has an electronic rangefinder that comes into use during both auto and manual focus operations. When using the autofocus operation, there are two modes for you to choose from, the single servo AF and continuous servo AF. It uses the TTL phase detection system with Nikon advanced AM200 autofocus module.
Sensor and Screen
The camera is fitted with the standard DP-20 finder. It has a fixed level pentaprism viewfinder with 0.7× magnification and 100% screen coverage. You may adjust the diopter of the viewfinder's eyepiece within the range of -3 to +1. Camera-related information such as exposure compensation value, frame counter, shutter speed, aperture, exposure mode, and flash ready indicator can be reviewed in the viewfinder. An illuminator switch is provided in the camera, which can be used when working in dim light.
Image and Video
The camera can operate with 35mm standard films. Nikon F4 has an automatic film loading function that advances the frame when you depress the shutter release button. When using continuous shooting mode, the camera takes pictures at 5.7 fps. Nikon F4 has both automatic and manual film rewind methods. It takes up to 8 seconds to completely rewind the film if you use the auto rewind method. The camera can also capture images of one or more objects with multiple exposures in the same frame.
Other Features
You may mount various Nikon speedlight flashes to the camera thanks to its built-in CPU. When attached to the camera, the speedlights automatically get synchronized at 1/250 of a second. A LED indicator incorporated in the camera lets you know the flash is ready to fire. Additionally, it warns you if there is an insufficient exposure, or the speedlight is not properly connected. By using the self-timer, the camera's shutter release can be delayed up to 10 seconds. You may cancel the timer by switching the film advance mode selector. The camera has an MB-21 battery pack that holds up to 6 AA-type alkaline-manganese or NiCd batteries.
