Relive the joy of film photography with the Canon AT-1 SLR camera with 50mm f/1.8 SC FD Lens. This camera can also work with other FD bayonet-mount lenses. It offers manual control over its exposure setting and has a CdS cell TTL full-aperture metering and a maximum ISO range of 3200. The shutter speed can be increased up to 1/1000th of a second, which allows you to capture photos of moving objects with immense clarity. The camera incorporates a fixed split-image and microprism screen to handle the focusing work. Moreover, the DOF preview button lets you achieve the desired shallow depth of field in photographs. An external flash can be connected to the camera with the provided hot shoe and German socket. The camera also includes a self-timer with LED, frame counter, battery check, and time exposure bulb.

Optics and Focus

A Canon 50mm f/1.8 SC FD lens is included with the Canon AT-1 SLR. With a focal length of 50mm, the lens is suitable for point-and-click photography. It is designed with a six-blade diaphragm for a pleasant bokeh effect in images. The camera’s exposure metering can be manually adjusted up to 3200, while the shutter speed can be increased up to 1/1000th of a second.

Sensor and Screen

This Canon camera comes with an eye-level pentaprism viewfinder that offers a screen coverage of 93.5% on the vertical axis and 96.3% on the horizontal axis. You may use the split-image rangefinder, encircled by the microprism rangefinder, for assistance while focusing. The needles in the viewfinder warn you if the exposure is too high or too low.

Image and Video

A 35mm film, which has a speed between ASA 25 to 3200, can be used with this camera. The number of exposed frames are denoted in the frame counter. Additionally, the counter resets if the camera is opened. The exposed frame can be advanced by using the film-advance lever that is in ready position at 30.

Other Features

The Canon AT-1 SLR has a self-timer that offers a maximum shutter delay time of 10 seconds. You may press the battery check button to cancel the timer when you no longer need it. The depth of field in the image can be adjusted by using the DOF preview button. You may keep useful information, such as film speed or location, written on a note in the memo holder. The external flash connected to the camera via hot shoe and X-synch can be synchronized up to 1/60th of a second. A single 4G-13 6 V mercury oxide battery can be used in this camera.
