The Canon XC10 4K Professional Camcorder gives your film projects a technical edge. This camera comes with a 13.36 MP CMOS sensor that provides high color sensitivity and clarity. Moreover, the DIGIC DV 5 image processor supports to 4K HD video recording while maintaining a low power consumption. The lens has an SLR-style function and offers an optical zoom of 10×. You can create stunning slow-motion effects in 720p. The CF card slot is provided for facilitating the 4K video recording. You can use the Canon log gamma and wide DR gamma for achieving the desired look for the footage.

Optics and Focus

The camera has an SLR-style lens incorporated in its design, which provides a 35mm equivalent focal range of 27.3–273mm in movie mode and 24.1–241mm in photo mode. You can adjust the aperture from f/2.8 to f/5.6. The autofocus mode is aided by four dedicated AF modes namely Face Detection, AiAF, Push AF, and Touch Focus. The lens aperture has 8 blades that provide a rounded bokeh. Both digital and optical image stabilization is implemented to reduce camera shakes during handheld shooting.

Sensor and Screen

This Canon professional camcorder comes with a 13.36 MP CMOS image sensor that offers vibrant image coloration with low noise. The camera has a 3.0-inch capacitive touch LCD that provides a 1030K dot resolution live view. Also, it can be tilted 45° upwards for allowing you to use the camera from a low angle. A viewfinder unit is provided along with the camcorder, which has a soft eye cup for giving comfort when using it.

Image and Video

The camera records videos in 4K with a maximum bitrate of 305 Mbps. A CF card slots is provided in the camera to support such heavy video recording medium. The DIGIC DV 5 image processor improves the low light performance by reducing noise. You can record a 720p slow-motion video with a high frame rate of 100 fps for PAL and 120 fps for NTSC. The Canon log gamma captures images with a subdued contrast and sharpness so that the high dynamic range is preserved for aiding your during post-production.

Other Features

The camera has an accessory shoe located at the top to attach a boom mic or flash unit to the camera. You can view your 4K videos on an HD TV by connecting it to the camera with the provided HDMI 1.4 terminal. The lens has a fixed hood that prevents stray light from entering in it so that the image contrast and saturation is maintained. You can attach headphones to the camcorder for monitoring the audio recording in the movie mode. With the 90°-tilting handle grip, you can easily shoot from a high or low angle. Moreover, the handle grip has mode selection toggle switch, start/stop button, and exposure rotary dial. This camera is powered by an LP-E6N Li-ion battery pack.
