The Minolta SRT 200 35mm SLR Camera works in tandem with the standard 50mm F/2 Rokkor-X lens to provide richly detailed photographs. You can also mount other Minolta MD lenses on to this camera. This camera works on full-aperture TTL exposure metering and offers a stopped down metering function. The fully mechanical focal-plane shutter offers a speed of up to 1/1000th of a second. This camera has an eye-level pentaprism viewfinder with a Mat-Fresnel-field focusing screen integrated into its design. Both the PC terminal and hot shoe are provided for attaching an external flash. You may use the "B" exposure mode to keep the shutter open for as much time as you want. The die-cast metal body construction translates into strength and rigidity. This camera is perfect for students and those looking for a classic.

Focus and Optics

The Minolta SRT 200 camera is accompanied by the Minolta 50mm F/2 Rokkor-X lens, which has 6 elements arranged in 5 groups. These optical elements have the Minolta Achromatic coating that improves light transmission and color rendition. The manual focusing system makes you capture clear shots of an object from a minimum distance of 0.5m. This Minolta SLR camera uses full-aperture TTL metering, powered by 2 CdS cells to provide a working range of EV 3 to 17 at ASA 100 with an f/1.4 aperture. You can set the ISO range anywhere between ASA 6 and 6400. The shutter speed can increase up to 1/1000th of a second.

Sensor and Screen

The fixed eye-level pentaprism viewfinder offers optimum exposure with a 0.86× magnification and 94% screen coverage. A Mat-Fresnel-field focusing screen with a center spot is integrated into the viewfinder. You may view relevant camera information in the viewfinder such as current exposure, metering range, and battery check. Thanks to the large return-type mirror, image cut-offs are avoided and accurate exposure readings are offered by the camera even with a 1600mm f/11 telephoto lens.

Image and Video

The SRT 200 camera shoots images with a 35mm film. With the film advance lever, you get 20° unengaged movement and a 150° winding angle. The exposure counter is incremented after each shot up to 36 exposures. When you open the camera back, the exposure counter is reset to its starting position.

Other Features

You can mount an electronic flash on to the hot shoe at the top. The flash synchronizes with the shutter at 1/60th of a second. Also, a PC terminal is also provided for off-camera flash units or to shoot with long exposures. Exposure metering is powered by a single 1.35V button shaped mercury battery. The battery-check mark lets you monitor the power level.
