The Canon 85mm f/1.8 USM lens is perfect for portraits and natural images. It is designed to produce natural background blur image. You can use the lens for full-frame Canon EF-mount DSLRs, however can also be used with APS-C models where it provides a 136mm equivalent focal length. The optical construction of the lens uses 9 Elements in 7 Groups. It features a ring-type ultra-sonic monitor (USM) brings subject quickly into focus. With the fast aperture of F/1.8, you obtain a shallow depth of field that distinguishes the subject from the background and foreground. Also, the rounded 8-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing out of focus quality. It features a super spectra coating to individual elements that minimizes ghosting when working in strong lighting conditions.
