A megapixel is one million pixels. It is commonly used to describe the resolution of digital cameras. For example, a 7.2 megapixel camera is capable of capturing roughly 7,200,000 pixels. The higher the megapixel number, the more detail the camera can capture. Therefore, the megapixel count is a significant specification to look for when buying a digital camera.

The Nikon DF DSLR Camera is an amalgamation of the brand's classic film cameras and current digital photography functions. It can be used with lenses having the Nikon F bayonet mount. It is equipped with a 16.2 MP CMOS sensor and an Expeed 3 image processor. The camera comes with a 39-point multi-CAM 4800 AF sensor for accurate focusing. You may speed up the shutter to 1/4000th of a second and ISO sensitivity to 204800. With the help of the 3.2-inch rear LCD screen, you may compose images and navigate through different functions easily. Additionally, the camera has a pentaprism viewfinder with a 0.7× magnification and diopter adjustment range of -3 to +1 m. You get a 100% screen coverage with both the LCD and the viewfinder.

Optics and Focus

This Nikon DSLR offers precision when focusing on subjects, thanks to its 39-point multi-CAM 4800 AF sensor. Additionally, the AF system includes nine cross-type AF points for quick focus adjustment. The camera uses four exposure metering methods: 3D color matrix, center-weighted average metering, matrix, and spot metering. The auto-exposure modes in the camera use the 2016-pixel RGB sensor and Nikon’s scene-recognition system to decide the appropriate setting for the shutter and lens aperture. The DF DSLR can click pictures at a maximum shutter speed of 1/4000th of a second. You may work with the camera in dim-lit conditions by extending the ISO sensitivity to 204800.

Sensor and Screen

This DSLR camera from Nikon captures sharp images with vivid color, thanks to its 16.2 MP CMOS sensor. With the 3.2-inch LCD screen, the camera lets you monitor live video recording, playback captured media, and navigate through various camera settings. The LCD screen offers a 170° viewing angle. Alternatively, you may use the pentaprism viewfinder, which offers a 0.7× magnification and allows you to adjust the diopter from -3 to +1 m. Both the LCD and the viewfinder provide 100% screen coverage.

Image and Video

The Nikon DF DSLR captures images in JPEG, TIFF, and RAW formats with a maximum resolution of 4928×3280 dpi. With the Expeed 3 image processor, images are rendered in high quality, even in low light, and with less noise. In the continuous-shooting mode, this camera can capture moving objects at 5.5 fps. You may use the white-balance and exposure modes to tweak your images and give them all a unique touch.

Other Features

This DSLR camera from Nikon camera has a hot shoe for connecting an electronic speed light and a PC terminal for non-electronic flash units. There are up to eight flash sync modes, including an auto mode. The connected flash synchronizes at 1/200th of a second. A self-timer is also included in the camera, which can delay the shutter by 2, 5, 10, and 20 seconds. When the self-timer is functioning, the camera can take up to nine shots. You may use the optional WU-1a wireless mobile adapter for transferring images and triggering the camera remotely with various Android and iOS smartphones and tablets. This camera runs on an EN-EL14a rechargeable Li-ion battery.

Control Specifications
ISO Speed: 100-12800 (Extended Mode: 50-204800)
ISO Speed:
The ISO speed setting dictates sensitivity to light. The higher the ISO speed, the more sensitive the film or digital sensor is to light. Higher ISOs have the effect of noise in an image. The actual ISO at which the noise occurs varies from camera to camera. Low ISOs are generally used for brighter lighting conditions and high ISOs are often used for low light or action shots.

Exposure Compensation: -3 EV to +3 EV (in 1/3 EV Steps)
Exposure Compensation:
Refers to the option for the user to override the internal light meter in the camera to either OVER or UNDER expose based on middle/18% gray. This is especially useful when photographing either extremely white/bright scenes or when in very dark/dimly lit scenarios.
