The Canon EOS 5Ds DSLR Camera provides stunning picture quality in both photo and video mode. This camera can be fitted to Canon EF mount lenses. The camera has a 50.6 MP CMOS sensor and DIGIC 6 image processor to facilitate low-light shooting. It includes a 61-point high-density reticular AF system, having 41 cross-type focus points. The ISO range of the camera can reach up to 12800 in extended mode. For capturing blur-free pictures of moving objects, the shutter can speeds up to 1/8000th of a second. You may use both 3.2-inch LCD and the pentaprism viewfinder to compose the scene. This camera comes with both hot shoe and PC terminal for attaching an external flash. The camera is powered by an LP-E6N rechargeable Li-ion battery.

Optics and Focus

Canon EOS 5DS ensures accurate focusing with its 61-high density reticular AF system that includes 41 cross-type AF points. The camera keeps the moving subject in focus with the Canon iTR intelligent tracking and recognition system. With a maximum ISO sensitivity up to 12800, you may capture images in varied light conditions. The camera has a shutter speed range of 30 seconds to 1/4000th of a second, which comes in handy when clicking pictures of moving objects.

Sensor and Screen

The Canon EOS 5DS DSLR camera has a 50.6 MP CMOS sensor that offers high-resolution images. Canon EOS 5DS has a scene detection system with RGB+IR metering sensor to ensure precise subject tracking in autofocus mode. A 3.2-inch ClearView II LCD is provided in the camera, which has a 1040k-dot resolution and offers a 170° oblique view. Additionally, the LCD has a multi-coating to reduce reflections from its surface. You may also use the pentaprism viewfinder, having a 0.71× magnification and a diopter adjustment from -3 to +1 m. Both LCD and viewfinder give a 100% screen coverage.

Image and Video

With the Canon EOS 5DS DSLR camera, you may capture 14-bit pictures with a maximum resolution of 8688×5792 dpi in both JPEG and RAW format. In video mode, the camera offers 1080p quality at 60 fps in an editing-friendly H.264 format. The continuous shooting mode captures photos with a frame rate of 5 fps. A dust reduction is integrated into the camera, which ensures clear images with high contrast. This camera provides a total of 9 white balance modes and one auto mode.

Other Features

The camera comes with a hot shoe for attaching an electronic flash and a PC terminal for other non-electric flash devices. Thanks to its eTTL flash system, you may connect a wireless flash unit for remote triggering. The camera synchronizes the electronic flash with the shutter speed up to 1 /200th of a second. A self-timer feature is included in the camera that lets you set the shutter release delay up to 10 seconds. Captured images can be transferred to your PC or printer with the USB 3.0 interface. Also, the USB interface makes the camera usable with Canon WFT-E7 for wireless file transfer. This camera runs on a single 1040 mAh LP-E6N rechargeable Li-ion battery.

Control Specifications
ISO Speed: Auto, 100-6400 (Extended Mode: 50-12800)
ISO Speed:
The ISO speed setting dictates sensitivity to light. The higher the ISO speed, the more sensitive the film or digital sensor is to light. Higher ISOs have the effect of noise in an image. The actual ISO at which the noise occurs varies from camera to camera. Low ISOs are generally used for brighter lighting conditions and high ISOs are often used for low light or action shots.
