Its optical construction involves 16 elements in 12 groups. While an SWC (SubWavelength structure Coating) reduces ghosting and lens flare, a fluorine coat makes it easy to remove dust and moisture from the lens surface. An Ultrasonic AF motor performs quiet, fast, and accurate focusing. You may use the power-focus mode when switching from auto to manual focus in the video mode. Additionally, the lens allows you to set focus points to which you may switch instantly. The three image-stabilization modes help minimize camera shakes by four stops when shooting handheld. The lens has a nine-blade diaphragm that creates a smooth bokeh effect in images. This lens is dust- and water-resistant.
