Overview

The Tamron 18–270mm F/3.5-6.3 Di-II VC PZD Lens is ideal for wildlife and sports photography. It is designed especially for Nikon F-mount cameras. For crop sensor DSLRs, the lens has a 35mm-equivalent focal range of 28.8–432mm. The lens design comes with 16 optical elements arranged in 13 groups. There are three low dispersion and three aspherical elements in the lens construction to reduce chromatic anomalies and maintain edge-to-edge sharpness. The BBAR coating ensures optimum image saturation by reducing the effects of ghosting and flare. With the PZD AF motor, the lens offers silent and precise autofocus performance. The Vibration Compensation IS reduces camera shakes to ensure smooth movement in the video and prevent blur in still images. With the rounded 7-blade diaphragm, you obtain pleasant bokeh in the background. The fluorine coat on the front element resists dust and moisture to maintain the image quality. You can fit 62mm circular filters on the front thread.

Elements / Groups: 16 / 13
Elements / Groups:
The individual pieces of glass that form the overall optical construction. Most lenses have between four and eleven elements to bend the light rays to ensure a perfectly formed image appears on the light sensitive surface, such as a film or CCD. The elements are arranged in groups and may be seen in specification sheets as, for example, 6 elements in 4 groups. That configuration may have two single elements and the other four grouped in pairs.
